Sydney Allicock Explains How Tourism Provides Jobs

"We may not have a five star hotel, but we have a five star forest," says Sydney Allicock, a Member of Parliament and pioneer of community-based tourism in Guyana.

In this video, he explains the benefits that tourism has brought to his entire community and his hopes to expand the concept throughout Guyana. Conservation International has worked with Sydney and others throughout Guyana to develop sustainable economic paths into the future.
